At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.
This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. We have strong product-market fit and world-class investor support. We’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.
Our team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.
At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.
Role Overview
Harvey is building the defining AI platform for professional services. As our product changes the way legal work gets done, the way we communicate it matters just as much. We're looking for our first Lead Copywriter to help define how Harvey sounds, establish the standards for our voice, and shape the ideas behind everything we put into the world.
This is more than a writing role. It's a creative leadership role. You'll partner with designers, product marketers, motion designers, and leadership from the earliest stages of a project to turn business objectives into ideas people remember. Great writing starts with great thinking, and you'll help ensure Harvey is known not just for what we build, but for how we communicate it.
You'll be a hands-on creative, owning some of the company's highest-impact work while establishing the principles and standards that define Harvey's voice. As the company grows, you'll have the opportunity to help shape and scale our copywriting practice, mentoring future writers and influencing how the function evolves.
This role reports to Scott Smith, VP of Creative, and sits within Harvey's Brand & Creative team. It's a rare opportunity to help define the voice of one of the fastest-growing AI companies in the world.
What You'll Own
Harvey's voice, tone, and editorial standards across every customer and employee touchpoint.
The creative thinking behind campaigns, launches, and brand initiatives, helping shape ideas before a single word is written.
Copy across the marketing site, campaigns, product launches, social, executive communications, sales enablement, and other strategic brand moments.
Consistency across an expanding network of marketers, product teams, agencies, and contributors, ensuring Harvey always sounds like one company.
The continued evolution of Harvey's writing practice as the company scales.
What You'll Do
Define Harvey's voice from first principles and create practical guidelines the entire company can use.
Partner closely with Design, Motion, Web, Product Marketing, and company leadership to develop concepts and narratives from the earliest stages of a project.
Write and edit across a broad range of work, from campaign concepts and product launches to website copy, executive storytelling, sales materials, and social content.
Push beyond the brief to uncover the idea that makes the work memorable, not simply the message that needs to be communicated.
Review, edit, and elevate copy from teammates, agencies, and cross-functional partners to maintain a consistently high creative standard.
Serve as Harvey's internal authority on language, helping teams communicate with greater clarity, confidence, and originality.
Help establish the foundations of Harvey's copywriting practice and mentor future writers as the team grows.
What You Have
8+ years of experience in copywriting, brand storytelling, or creative leadership, ideally across agency, in-house, or high-growth technology environments.
A portfolio demonstrating exceptional conceptual thinking alongside world-class execution across campaigns, brand, web, product, and launch work.
A strong point of view on language, voice, and storytelling, with the judgment to know when consistency matters and when the rules should be broken.
Experience developing creative concepts, not simply executing copy against an existing brief.
Exceptional editing instincts and the ability to elevate the writing of others through thoughtful, direct feedback.
Experience mentoring or guiding other writers, even if not through formal people management.
The ability to navigate ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Bonus
Experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS, AI, or enterprise technology company.
Experience building or redefining a brand voice from the ground up.
Experience mentoring writers or helping establish editorial standards and creative processes.
Familiarity with legal, professional services, or other complex enterprise industries.
Why This Role
Every iconic company is remembered not only for what it built, but for how it spoke.
Harvey has the opportunity to become one of those companies.
As our first Lead Copywriter, you'll help define the language behind one of the fastest-growing AI companies in the world, influencing everything from product launches and campaigns to executive storytelling and the customer experience itself. You'll have the opportunity to shape Harvey's voice from the ground up while partnering with a creative team that believes exceptional writing is one of the greatest competitive advantages a brand can have.
