We are proud of our team of 1500+ professionals with strong expertise and ambitious goals. Our people are our most valuable asset, which is why we choose to build businesses together with the best talent on the market.
We are currently looking for a BBackend Engineer (DevOps-oriented).
We are Leaply — an ecosystem of digital and physical products designed to help people build healthy habits and improve their quality of life. We operate in global markets — the US, Tier 1, Europe, and beyond.
We initially launched a web platform, and later expanded with a mobile application, focused on habit-building with a subscription-based monetization model.
In 2025, the team tripled in size and the business grew 3x. In 2026, we aim to double our growth and become a top-3 healthtech product globally.
Our team is building its third business together, with successful exits behind us and a deep understanding of our niche and target audience. We move fast, communicate openly, and set ambitious goals.
This role is for an engineer who is strong in backend development, but is also excited to grow deeper in infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud solutions, and developer experience. We are looking for someone who can write production-level code, understand product and business context, and help us build scalable technical foundations for the next stage of growth.
What you’ll do:
— Build and maintain backend applications using Node.js / TypeScript, NestJS, and GraphQL;
— Write production-level code for product and engineering challenges — not only scripts or infrastructure configurations;
— Contribute to infrastructure development: Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and deployment processes;
— Help transform infrastructure that has grown alongside the product into a more mature, scalable, and well-structured platform;
— Improve CI/CD processes to make releases more predictable, stable, and efficient;
— Work with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure to support reliable deployments, autoscaling, and service health;
— Collaborate closely with product, growth, marketing, payments, analytics, and engineering teams;
— Build technical solutions that support business growth across three core domains: Product, Growth/Marketing, and Payments;
— Proactively identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement;
— Use AI tools in your daily workflow to move faster, think broader, and improve product development processes;
— Learn and apply new technologies, approaches, and tools that can help the team build better products faster.
This role is for you if...
Must-have
— 4+ years of experience in building and maintaining backend applications in Node.js / TypeScript;
— Hands-on experience with NestJS and GraphQL;
— Practical experience with Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes;
— Experience working with infrastructure and setting up or improving CI/CD processes;
— Ability to write production-level code and contribute to backend development when needed;
— Experience working in cross-functional teams with product, analytics, marketing, or business stakeholders;
— A proactive and responsible mindset with a focus on solving user and business problems;
— Passion for learning new technologies, tools, or solutions that improve product development;
— Upper-Intermediate English level or higher;
— You are ahead of the AI adoption curve and actively use AI tools in your workflow.
Nice-to-have
— Previous experience with data-driven decision-making, product analytics, and feature ownership culture;
— Experience in hiring or managing an engineering or product team;
— Hands-on experience with client-side technologies;
— Experience with data engineering and/or Machine Learning;
— Experience with platform engineering, developer experience, or internal tools;
— Experience with FinOps, infrastructure cost optimization, or cost monitoring.
SKELAR is an environment for self-realization of people who are able to create successful companies. We believe in their power and scale.
To support this, we’ve built a strong internal ecosystem:
— 8 SKELAR Platform teams that help businesses solve challenges — from recruiting and communications to finance and legal;
— A community of founders with proven experience in launching multiple businesses;
— Internal professional clubs: marketing, development, finance, recruiting, brand ambassadorship;
— Trainings, courses, and conferences;
— Health insurance and a corporate doctor;
— SKELAR Foundation — a charitable initiative supporting Ukraine.
