We take a data-driven approach to understand markets, develop monetization strategies, and uncover customer needs that shape product strategy and messaging. We partner closely with Sales, Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Research, Comms, and Design to deliver a cohesive end-to-end customer experience and lead go-to-market efforts for new product launches across channels.
About the role
We’re looking for a Product Marketing Manager, Advertising to help bring together advertiser insights, market understanding, and product knowledge to inform positioning, support product priorities, and execute go-to-market initiatives that drive adoption and measurable business impact.
You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Partnerships to understand advertiser needs, translate complex AI capabilities into clear customer value, and bring new products and features to market. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with hands-on execution, can independently drive clearly scoped workstreams, and is eager to grow their strategic ownership in a fast-moving environment.
In this role, you will:
Contribute to the product and marketing strategy for a defined area of OpenAI’s advertising business in partnership with senior product marketers and cross-functional partners.
Build an understanding of advertisers through customer research, market analysis, and competitive insights, identifying opportunities to improve positioning, adoption, and the customer experience.
Develop and maintain positioning and messaging for assigned products or features, translating complex capabilities into clear narratives for different advertiser audiences and use cases.
Partner with Product and Engineering to synthesize advertiser feedback and market insights that inform roadmap discussions and product decisions.
Execute go-to-market plans for new products and features, independently owning defined workstreams from planning through launch and post-launch adoption.
Create advertiser-facing content and sales enablement materials, including product narratives, sales decks, one-pagers, FAQs, case studies, and launch communications.
Partner with Sales, Partnerships, Data Science, and Analytics to track success metrics, assess launch and adoption performance, and recommend improvements.
Identify advertiser concerns and launch risks related to performance, safety, policy, and trust, escalating them appropriately and incorporating guidance into customer communications.
Coordinate cross-functional partners around deliverables, responsibilities, and timelines, proactively surfacing dependencies and resolving blockers within the scope of your initiatives.
Contribute to repeatable approaches for launches, messaging, and enablement by documenting learnings, developing templates, and sharing effective practices with the broader team.

Have experience contributing to product marketing strategies and bringing products, features, or programs to market, ideally in advertising, marketing technology, platforms, data, or AI.
Have experience applying structured problem-solving approaches in product marketing, strategy or management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, venture capital, or a similarly analytical environment.
Have familiarity with advertiser goals and the advertising ecosystem, including areas such as measurement, targeting and relevance, creative, auctions, and performance.
Can synthesize customer research and market insights into clear positioning, actionable recommendations, and well-executed go-to-market programs.
Communicate clearly and persuasively, translating technical concepts into accessible customer value for different audiences.
Are comfortable using qualitative and quantitative evidence—including customer interviews, surveys, adoption data, and experiments—to support decisions and improve results.
Bring structure and sound judgment to ambiguous problems, independently managing scoped initiatives while seeking input when priorities or tradeoffs are unclear.
Build productive working relationships across Product, Engineering, Sales, Partnerships, and other teams, contributing to alignment without relying on formal authority.
Are highly organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment.
