What this job can offer you
-
This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Senior Product Manager, Fraud and Compliance, joining the Fintech area
As Remote grows and handles larger transaction volumes across countries, so does our exposure to fraud, credit risk, and compliance risk. This role owns the systems and strategies that protect Remote and its customers — from onboarding verification and screening, to credit risk assessment and reserve management, to fraud detection and enforcement across the full customer lifecycle.
You'll drive the evolution of our risk and compliance capabilities from reactive, rule-based controls toward proactive, automated systems that identify risk signals early and scale without proportional increases in manual effort. This is a high-autonomy, high-stakes role. You'll report to the Director of Product and work closely with Risk, Compliance, Treasury, Legal, Collections, and Engineering.
What you bring
- Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code is required. You must be able to autonomously build, debug, and ship functional code and prototypes — not just write specs.
- AI fluency. You have a point of view on how AI and automation can transform risk operations — from pattern detection to anomaly scoring to compliance workflows.
- Seasoned Product Manager, with a track record on platform, API, or products for operational teams.
- Platform mindset. You build systems others can extend. Scalability means growing the business without proportional increases in manual work or complexity.
- Strong UX sensibilities. Risk and compliance tooling doesn't have to be painful. You care about the admin experience as much as the customer-facing one.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills. You partner effectively with compliance, engineering, design, treasury, and legal — and you lead by example on async workflows.
- Data-driven decision-making. Comfortable querying data and working with visualisation tools, you let insights drive your prioritisation.
- Fast learner with a growth mindset. You're humble, eager to learn, and get up to speed quickly in new territory, then pass on what you pick up so the whole team levels up.
- **Great judgment-**making strategic (what to prioritize) and tactical (feature scope) decisions.
- Language: Business-level proficiency writing and speaking English.
- Domain advantage (nice to have): Experience with risk/compliance platforms and third-party screening or fraud detection tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Own credit risk assessment and reserve management: Drive the strategy for how Remote evaluates, scores, and mitigates credit risk. Evolve the underlying models and tooling to be smarter, faster, and more automated over time.
- Fraud detection and prevention: Own fraud controls, freeze mechanisms, and dispute workflows. Build proactive strategies that detect and prevent fraud — not just react to it.
- Compliance automation: Own end-to-end onboarding compliance — KYB verification, AML screening, and background checks. Drive automation to reduce manual effort while maintaining regulatory defensibility.
- Build flexible, platform-oriented systems: Prefer solutions that operations teams can configure and extend without engineering involvement. Remove engineering as a bottleneck for responding to new risk and compliance patterns.
- Collections and enforcement: Partner with Collections and Treasury on risk reserves, payment blocks, and enforcement actions. Own the admin and customer-facing surfaces that support this.
- Ship iteratively at pace: Lead a product team delivering high throughput and high ROI. Advance key KPIs around automation rates, false-positive reduction, and risk accuracy.
- Stakeholder management across risk, ops, and finance. Translate complex risk trade-offs into clear product decisions. Align with Compliance Operations, Treasury, Legal, and senior leadership.
Practicals
- You'll report to: Director of Product
- Location: For this position we welcome everyone to apply
- Start date: As soon as possible
