This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Product Manager, joining our Product team in the Fintech vertical. As a Billing Platform Product Manager, you will be a key member of our triad of product managers in the billing team, each leading their independent teams yet working within an interconnected scope.

As a Product Manager at Remote, you'll be developing and guiding our strategy for a key product area in Finance. You'll advance this vision by working with a cross-functional engineering and design group to find our most important problems and shape iterative solutions towards them.

 

What you bring

  • Prior experience as product manager in billing / invoicing or similar, ideally at a high-growth company
  • Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code or similar tool. You must be able to autonomously build, debug, and ship functional prototypes or small code changes with the help of AI tooling, not just write specs.
  • Great judgment making both strategic (what to prioritize) and tactical (feature scope) decisions
  • Demonstrable, self-driven results that have moved a product in the right direction
  • A passion for creating seamless and effective products, even when the challenges they address are complex and intricate.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, including across different departments (e.g. business operations, sales, etc.) to ensure that we’re satisfying critical business requirements
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Bonus: Experience working in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build solutions together with the rest of the team that solve for finance, billing and other financial services at Remote
    • Own not just software implementation, but the end-to-end experience: Remote delivers value through services powered by both humans and software
    • Lead on complex solutions without requiring support or involvement from senior members of the product team
    • Effectively manage internal expectations for complex projects, products, and features while navigating challenging prioritization decisions
  • Drive Remote in the right direction by building an effective roadmap and strategy for your area of the product in Finance
    • Break down strategic plans into near and mid-term goals that's easy for others to understand
    • Align your product roadmap with higher level department and company problems we’re working to solve
    • Be the subject matter expert for your product area
    • Contribute to scaling and growth plans for your product area
  • Ship improvements quickly and iteratively, challenging yourself and counterparts to find minimal solutions to problems
    • Support and leads a product team delivering high throughput and high return on investment
    • Understand key business KPIs and align your team's work and metrics to directly improve to these
    • Work together with engineers, designers and stakeholders to build solutions to important complex problems
  • Communicate and collaborate internally and externally
    • Contribute to the Product org by sharing your techniques, processes, and learnings
    • Communicate and promote the work of your team and why it matters to customers and internal teams
    • Work asynchronously and transparently
    • Lead on solutions with minimal support or involvement from senior members of the product team. You should be able to work autonomously on simple features and iterations, only needing support to solve complex problems

    • Develop into a subject matter expert for understanding, articulating, and solving complex business problems related to our mobile experiences

At first glance our salary bands seem quite wide - here is some context. At Remote we have international operations and a globally distributed workforce.  We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $62,400 to $140,400. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.

The job market, especially within tech and global companies, has developed its own dialect. Not understanding these acronyms can make you lose valuable opportunities or poorly negotiate your contract. To end this problem, we created the Definitive Glossary for the Remote Professional.

🏢 Work Models & Routine

Async (Asynchronous Work)
A communication model where responses don't need to be immediate. Instead of back-to-back meetings, the team relies on well-structured documents, threads, and messages. It's the gold standard for global companies spanning multiple time zones.
Sync (Synchronous Work)
The opposite of Async. It requires the team to be online and available at the same time for meetings, live chats, and real-time collaboration.
Daily / Stand-up
A quick daily meeting (usually 15 minutes) common in Agile (Scrum) methodologies. The team answers three questions: What did I do yesterday? What will I do today? Are there any blockers?
All-Hands / Town Hall
A company-wide meeting involving all employees. Usually led by the founders (C-Levels) to present results, new goals, and answer team questions.
1:1 (One-on-One)
A recurring individual meeting between a professional and their direct manager. It is used for career alignment, feedback, and problem-solving, not just for project status updates.

💰 Contracts, Benefits & Compensation

PTO (Paid Time Off)
Instead of strict, categorized leave policies, modern US companies usually offer a flexible pool of days (e.g., 20 days of PTO, or even "Unlimited PTO") that you can use for vacations, sick days, or personal matters, while receiving your regular compensation.
Equity / Stock Options
Company ownership. The startup offers you the right to buy shares at a heavily discounted strike price in the future. If the company grows, goes public, or is acquired, these shares can be highly lucrative.
Vesting (Vesting Schedule)
The rule that controls your Equity. It usually lasts 4 years. You don't get all the shares on day one; you "earn" them gradually as you stay with the company. A "1-year Cliff" means you must stay for at least one year to receive your first batch of shares.
RSUs (Restricted Stock Units)
Unlike Stock Options (where you have the right to buy the stock), RSUs are actual shares the company grants you as a bonus or part of your compensation package, following a strict Vesting schedule.
Independent Contractor (1099 / B2B)
The most common international hiring model for global talent working for US companies. You act as a service provider (business-to-business), receiving the gross salary (often six-figure compensation) without standard local payroll tax deductions at the source.
