100 ptsHopper is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their Fintech and Lodging team in New York, with the opportunity to work remotely. As an Engineering Manager at Hopper, you will play a crucial role in rebuilding how travelers shop and book trips, as well as reshaping how hotel distributors, chains, and OTAs monetize flexibility. The company's fastest-growing fintech product, Hotels CFAR, is a cancellation service that allows travelers to cancel their bookings for any reason and receive a refund, and you will be responsible for leading a high-performing product team to build durable and scalable systems.
As an engineering leader, you will be expected to perform two key functions simultaneously: running a product team and serving as a credible, partner-facing technical leader. This will involve leading a small team of approximately three engineers, utilizing AI tooling to scale output, and producing actual artifacts such as prototypes, integration scaffolding, and technical specs. You will also be required to engage in partner-facing calls, unblock the team, and ship products, with the expectation that you will be a "manager who codes with AI," rather than simply reviewing PRs from a distance.
The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a blended role, where engineers have a real voice and are empowered to make decisions. Hopper offers a remote work model, providing the flexibility to work from anywhere. As an Engineering Manager at Hopper, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge fintech product, collaborate with a talented team, and enjoy the benefits of a remote work arrangement. If you are a motivated and experienced engineering leader looking for a new challenge, this role may be an excellent fit for you.
