About 1Password

At 1Password, we’re building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign-in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Unified Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to the world’s most innovative AI companies, trust 1Password to help their teams securely adopt the SaaS and AI tools they need to do their best work.

If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future.

Online developer learning has changed. It has shifted toward just-in-time learning via generative AI, and away from owned web properties. The education engineer will build an online education strategy that leverages these changes to support awareness and adoption of 1Password's developer tools by creating AI and search-optimized content, tutorials, blogs, and other technical assets that demonstrate our features in context. They will educate users in the real world through in-person labs, conference presentations, and other engagements that generate high fidelity feedback and encourage continued online engagement.

The Senior Staff Education Engineer is an individual contributors who will report to the Director of Developer Relations. You will work alongside the existing customer success and PMM teams to shape 1Password's education strategy for a new era of developer learning. You will help 1Password create content that AI can surface, and that addresses real human concerns and technical education needs.

How we’re using AI today

Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

  • Technical Fluency: 7+ years in technical roles including software or platform engineering, developer advocacy, solution engineering, or other fields. You are deeply familiar with modern development workflows and patterns.

  • Education Experience: 3+ years crafting educational content and experiences for developers, including hands-on tutorials, documentation, written best practices, conference presentations, instructor-led workshops or labs.

  • Communication: Exceptional skills at written and verbal communication. You communicate well in multiple formats including written tutorials, videos, and through technical assets including demo code or reference architectures.

  • Platform Collaboration: Proven collaborations with the teams building the content platform to improve usability, searchability, and AI compatibility.

  • Data driven choices: Experience using data to optimize documentation, evaluate content strategy, identify content gaps, drive traffic, and generate engagement.

  • Cross functional collaboration: Experience collaborating with technical product marketing, social teams, customer support, SMEs. Engineering blogs and technical communication.

Bonus points for:

  • Security Focus: Experience dealing with security-conscious developer communities or products (Identity, Auth, DevSecOps) is a strong plus.

What you can expect:

  • Build: Build evergreen, code-complete, hands-on examples that teach developers how to use our products in the most technically-relevant contexts.

  • Educate: Help users learn by creating content that is low-cognitive-load, discoverable, navigable, and relevant to real developer problems.

  • Align: Drive alignment about opinionated best practices for using our developer tooling and publish those best practices in places where the community can use them most effectively.

  • Present: Create and deliver reusable, in person labs, conference presentations, and other low-cognitive-load content that will generate continued engagement and enable others.

  • Curate: Help 1Password employees and community members create and publish educational content geared toward developers that address real world use cases and have practical applications.

  • Strategize: Use data to evaluate education formats, and prioritize ones that effectively generate awareness and adoption at scale. Maximize the impact of targeted, high-investment activities like in-person labs and presentations to generate impact beyond their normal lifespan.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $171,000 USD and $248,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Dica do Especialista

A Tríade do Crescimento: Tecnologia, Sustentabilidade e Saúde

3. Economia do Cuidado e Saúde Digital (Healthtech)

O Imperativo do Upskilling e Reskilling
