This role is focused on the development of fintech products, specifically the Hotels CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason) service, which is a rapidly growing product that allows travelers to cancel their bookings and receive a refund without any questions asked. As an engineering leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a high-performing product team to build durable and scalable systems, while also serving as a credible technical leader who can work closely with partners to scope and deliver integrations.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve leading a small team of approximately three engineers, with a focus on leveraging AI tooling, prioritization, and autonomy to drive output. The Engineering Manager will be expected to be hands-on, producing actual artifacts with AI such as prototypes, technical specs, and partner-facing API examples, rather than simply reviewing code from a distance. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and partnership-building abilities, with the goal of delivering high-quality products and services to partners and travelers alike.
The company offers a remote work model, providing the flexibility to work from anywhere, and is looking for a candidate who can thrive in this environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience in leading engineering teams, and a proven track record of delivering scalable and durable systems. In return, the company offers a range of benefits and the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge fintech product that is revolutionizing the way travelers book and cancel their trips.
