Interstates is seeking a PM Technical Trainer to develop and deliver technical training that supports the growth and development of our Project Management teams. This role will be dedicated to the PM Home Base and will help create a consistent, scalable training approach that accelerates onboarding, strengthens technical capabilities, and improves adoption of key project management systems and processes.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys teaching, developing others, and translating technical processes into practical, easy-to-understand training.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver technical training for Project Management teams
- Focus training on WBS, Intertrak, ASTA, Estimating, O3, AWP, and Spectrum
- Provide training and development support primarily to APM 1 and APM 2 employees
- Develop training materials, resources, and learning activities
- Partner with PM leadership and subject matter experts to identify training needs and opportunities
- Deliver engaging, practical, and consistent training across teams and locations
- Evaluate training effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Support onboarding and ongoing development of Project Management employees
- Maintain current knowledge of PM systems, processes, and best practices
- Travel to Interstates locations and teams to support training needs

Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn and teach business systems and processes
- Experience in Project Management, construction, engineering, or a related industry preferred
- Experience with WBS, Intertrak, ASTA, Estimating, O3, AWP, or Spectrum preferred
- Previous training or instructional experience is preferred but not required
Location
This position is based in Sioux Falls, SD; Sioux Center, IA; or Omaha, NE, with the preferred location determined by business needs. Long-term remote flexibility may be considered for the right candidate after gaining experience and establishing success in the role.
Travel
Approximately 25–30% travel is expected to support training needs across Interstates locations
