About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Systems Engineer, GTM, to help us evolve our Salesforce CRM to the next level to meet the needs of our rapidly scaling global business. You are a highly skilled Salesforce technology professional capable of working across all levels of the organization. You are adept at crafting, implementing, and evolving out-of-the-box and custom solutions that employ best practices for systems integration (API and IPaaS Solutions) across the SFDC ecosystem.
You will work closely with our current Revenue Excellence team and our cross-functional stakeholders in Marketing, Finance, Sales, Analytics, Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to ensure we leverage Salesforce as the organization's source of truth.
You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the technical excellence of your team and owned services, through design reviews, code reviews, and our approval process; contributing to architectural designs; and mentoring colleagues. This is a high-visibility role within the organization with an incredible opportunity to drive impact and value quickly.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our Oakland, CA, or Denver, CO offices or remotely in the US.
Technologies You’ll Use
Salesforce CRM, CPQ, Apex, JavaScript, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, Salesforce APIs, Python, HTML, Git, consuming and invoking web services utilizing WCF, REST, XML, JSON.
What You’ll Do
- Project Lead: Define and drive the critical projects and technical strategy for Salesforce CRM and related systems, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Lead the design and implementation of scalable and secure solutions that integrate seamlessly with other enterprise systems.
- Strategic Initiatives: Spearhead key strategic initiatives, such as process automation and data integration efforts, to enhance operational efficiency and business agility.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders and executives across the organization to identify and prioritize key projects, providing technical expertise and strategic insights.
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Lead by example, promoting best coding, design, and system architecture practices.
- Complex Problem Solving: Address high-impact, complex technical challenges, ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of Salesforce and its integrations.
- Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, data privacy regulations, and internal policies.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to the broader tech community by sharing best practices, participating in industry events, and publishing insights on Salesforce technology.
- Ownership and Accountability: Own the Salesforce ecosystem fully, driving enhancements and optimizations to meet evolving business needs. Act as the primary point of contact for high-stakes projects and critical system issues.
Skills We’re Looking For
- Extensive Salesforce Expertise: 5+ years of experience in Salesforce development and architecture, including deep knowledge of Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and Salesforce APIs. Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex, scalable solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem. 2nd Generation Managed Package experience is a plus.
- Business Acumen and Cost Management: Strong understanding of business processes, particularly billing, revenue recognition, and order management. Ability to evaluate and compare alternative solutions based on cloud costs and performance implications, ensuring efficient and cost-effective technology investments. Skilled in communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and aligning technical initiatives with business objectives.
- Strategic Vision and Execution: Experience in setting and executing strategic technical visions, particularly in the context of complex Salesforce implementations and integrations. Ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and drive transformative projects.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Proven track record in leading and mentoring technical teams, with experience in upleveling engineers and fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead geographically dispersed teams, effectively handling projects across time zones and cultural contexts. Skilled in ensuring effective communication and collaboration in a global team environment.
- Enterprise-Level Systems Integration: Expertise in integrating Salesforce with other enterprise systems, utilizing APIs, middleware, and IPaaS solutions. Experience with event-driven architectures and managing data flows across multiple platforms.
- Governance and Compliance: Demonstrated experience in establishing governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements (such as GDPR), data retention, and internal policies related to data security and privacy.
- Complex Problem Solving: Proven ability to tackle complex technical challenges, particularly related to performance optimization, scalability, and system resilience. Experience in designing solutions that address high-volume data processing and integration challenges.
- Advanced Certifications: Salesforce Developer I & II certifications are required; Salesforce System Architect and/or Salesforce CPQ Specialist Certification is highly preferred. Additional certifications, such as Salesforce Technical Architect or Application Architect, are a plus.
- Agile and DevOps Expertise: Agile and DevOps Expertise: In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, with experience leading Agile teams. Proficiency in Salesforce DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing frameworks. Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools to accelerate development, testing, and documentation workflows.
- Autonomy and Adaptability: Comfortable operating independently with minimal oversight and adjusting quickly to shifting priorities, ambiguous requirements, and evolving project scope in a fast-moving environment.
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information to senior leadership and external stakeholders. Experience in technical writing and documentation.
- Quality and Standards Oversight: Experience establishing and enforcing coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes. Focus on writing meaningful and comprehensive tests, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, to ensure the robustness and reliability of software. Responsible for conducting thorough code reviews and maintaining high-quality standards across all deliverables.
- Ability to collaborate in a highly geographically dispersed team environment.
