Role At A Glance
The VP of Product is a senior operator responsible for translating Paystand’s corporate strategy into a focused product vision, commercially sound roadmap, and disciplined execution. This leader will own the Product Management function and work side by side with Engineering, Design, GTM, Finance, Operations, and executive leadership to unify and scale Paystand’s B2B payments platform across accounts receivable, accounts payable, digital assets, and cross-border payments.
This is not a strategy-only role. The right leader brings technical credibility, strong business judgment, customer insight, and organizational leadership—using each to make difficult tradeoffs, remove execution barriers, and deliver measurable revenue, adoption, retention, and operating leverage. The role will lead and influence teams across the United States and LATAM and must operate effectively across cultures, time zones, and business lines.
Strategic Priorities
- Unify the Product Platform: Bring Paystand’s AR, AP, digital-asset, and cross-border capabilities into a coherent platform strategy that reduces fragmentation, improves customer time-to-value, and strengthens network effects.
- Integrate and Scale Bitwage: Accelerate product and operational integration of the Bitwage business while expanding secure, reliable, 24/7 cross-border payment capabilities.
- Advance Digital Assets and Stablecoin Utility: Define and execute product strategy for digital assets, stablecoins, blockchain-based payment rails, treasury capabilities, and cross-border settlement in ways that solve real business problems for the modern CFO.
- Scale AI-Native Products and Operations: Expand AI-enabled collections, spend management, treasury, and customer experiences while embedding agentic automation into the Product organization’s own operating model.
- Build a High-Performance Product System: Establish clear portfolio priorities, decision rights, operating rhythms, and accountability across Product, Engineering, and GTM teams in the United States and LATAM.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Product and Portfolio Strategy: Convert company objectives, customer needs, market intelligence, and technical realities into a clear multi-year product strategy and sequenced roadmap.
- Drive Technical and Product Execution: Partner deeply with Engineering and Architecture on platform design, APIs, data, integrations, scalability, security, and build-versus-buy decisions. Challenge assumptions and resolve tradeoffs without becoming a bottleneck.
- Connect Product Decisions to Business Results: Evaluate investments through revenue potential, margin, adoption, retention, implementation effort, risk, and customer value—not feature volume or internal enthusiasm.
- Lead Cross-Functional Execution: Align Product, Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations from discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration.
- Lead Digital-Asset and Cross-Border Innovation: Guide product development across stablecoins, blockchain-based payment infrastructure, cross-border money movement, settlement, liquidity, and related regulatory considerations.
- Build and Develop the Product Organization: Set a high talent bar, clarify ownership, coach Product leaders and managers, strengthen succession capability, and create an environment of candor, curiosity, accountability, and low ego.
- Represent the Customer and Market: Maintain direct relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders; use qualitative and quantitative evidence to identify problems worth solving and validate product-market fit.
- Establish Performance Discipline: Define product KPIs, instrument the customer journey, review outcomes consistently, and stop or redirect work when evidence no longer supports the investment.
- Communicate at the Executive Level: Present clear recommendations, tradeoffs, risks, and decisions to the executive team and other stakeholders. Translate complex technical topics into practical business implications.
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of progressive leadership across Product, Engineering, technical strategy, or adjacent business functions, including significant experience leading complex B2B Fintech, payments, SaaS, or financial-platform products.
- A demonstrated record of building, launching, and scaling products that produced measurable revenue, adoption, retention, customer, or operating results.
- A blended technical and business foundation is required: a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, a business-focused technical discipline, or equivalent technical experience, paired with an MBA, formal business training, or substantial experience leading a commercial or operational business function.
- Direct working knowledge of digital assets, stablecoins, blockchain-based payment rails, cross-border payment flows, settlement, liquidity, and the practical risk and regulatory considerations that shape these products.
- Technical depth sufficient to engage credibly with engineers and architects on APIs, platform architecture, data, security, integrations, and system tradeoffs; prior engineering or hands-on technical experience is strongly valued.
- Strong commercial judgment and financial fluency, with the ability to connect product and technical decisions to revenue, margin, market position, implementation cost, and long-term enterprise value.
- Meaningful cross-functional leadership experience beyond Product, including success influencing or leading Engineering, GTM, Operations, Finance, Customer Success, or other business functions.
- Exceptional analytical rigor, systems thinking, and cognitive agility, paired with the emotional intelligence to influence strong personalities, absorb dissent, communicate directly, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- A proven talent builder who sets high standards, develops leaders, creates accountability, and operates with curiosity, resilience, humility, and low ego.
- Experience leading distributed, multicultural teams and collaborating effectively across the United States and LATAM.
- Fluent professional English is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as an engineer, technical product leader, solutions architect, or comparable role that required hands-on understanding of software systems.
- Experience integrating an acquired company, consolidating overlapping product lines, or migrating customers and teams to a unified platform.
- Deep experience in B2B payments, embedded finance, treasury management, the Office of the CFO, ERP ecosystems, or API-first financial infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of U.S. and LATAM payments, banking, data, security, and regulatory environments.
- Professional fluency in Spanish.
AI-Native Leadership
- Demonstrated results incorporating AI or agentic systems into product development, research, analytics, decision support, customer experiences, or operating workflows.
- Designs repeatable systems that increase execution capacity, reduce manual work, improve decision quality, and make knowledge reusable across teams.
- Continuously challenges how work is performed—not only within Product, but across connected functions—and converts experimentation into durable, measurable business improvements.
- Balances speed and calculated risk with appropriate controls, clear guardrails, and accountability for outcomes.

- Enjoy generous PTO and sick leave, because we believe in balance.
