About the Role
We’re looking for a business-minded Commercial Legal Counsel, with approximately 5 years of experience drafting and negotiating customer agreements with leading global and domestic organizations. This legal team member will be a key partner and liaison to other impacted Fivetran departments and stakeholders across the EMEA region. The ideal candidate is a high impact individual contributor who brings strong legal expertise, sound business judgment, and the ability to operate independently on commercial matters while working closely with senior members of the Commercial Legal Team.
This is a full-time, remote position based out of our London, UK.
Professional fluency in both English and French is required, as this role will support customers and internal stakeholders across EMEA, including French-speaking markets.

What You’ll Do
- Review, revise and negotiate commercial contracts with customers and prospects, including customer paper agreements, for the EMEA region
- Serve as one of the designated legal contacts on the EMEA commercial legal team to Fivetran’s EMEA enterprise sales team, including sales team education, training and communications related to any changes to customer agreements
- Serve as one of the primary legal contacts on the commercial legal team, providing strategic guidance and oversight on contracting, enablement, and process improvement initiatives
- Help maintain and update commercial legal team playbooks to help drive alignment with internal stakeholders
- Support key template documents, including periodic revisions and improvements, and help operationalize templates into the contracts management and automation tool
- Liaise with Fivetran’s product team to understand how product updates may impact existing or new customer agreements
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for commercial contract lifecycle management, ensuring efficient review, negotiation, and approval processes
- Stay abreast of evolving legal trends and industry best practices in the SaaS and data privacy space, including EU/UK requirements
- Complete other special projects given your interest areas and the needs of a rapidly scaling company and team
Skills We’re Looking For
- A commercial attorney with approximately 5 years of experience in negotiating commercial contracts at high-growth technology companies, with interest in data and privacy.
- A negotiator with a solid understanding of global commercial transactions, including experience in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing agreements, such as sales agreements, SaaS and enterprise B2B transactions, and data processing agreements (compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws), including on customer paper.
- A process-oriented lawyer with an interest in building and optimizing processes and procedures in partnership with legal operations
- A track record of achieving high-volume, quick turn on execution of agreements constructed to mitigate risk and support revenue growth, including customer paper review
- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, able to clearly articulate complex legal concepts to both a technical and non-technical audience
- High attention to detail, with demonstrated self-initiative that drives a desire for impact and achievement
- Qualified solicitor/lawyer (or equivalent) admitted to practice in Ireland, England & Wales, or another European jurisdiction
- Professional fluency in both English and French is required, including the ability to independently review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements in both languages.

- Experience using AI tools (such as Claude or similar) to enhance legal workflow efficiency, including contract review, drafting, and research
- EU AI Act knowledge
- Experience negotiating partner contracts
